How did Richard’s Meat happen? How long have you been operating?
Top-Line Butchery on Sydney Road was owned by my father. He also had other shops in East Roseville and Dee Why. We have been trading since 1975.

Best business experience?
Selling the site on Sydney Road, Balgowlah.

If you weren’t doing this, what would you be doing?
Selling Real Estate.

Best part of your job or most enjoyable part of your job?
Greeting and chatting to the public.

Most stressful part of your job?
The hours. 60-hour weeks. 6am to 6pm, 6 days a week.

Weirdest thing that has ever happened at work?
Once served a long lost relative I’d never met before until they came into the shop.

What’s the best part of working on the Northern Beaches? Why’d you chose to work here?
Being able to get out for a swim. I’ve always worked somewhere on the northern beaches, it’s the best. Balgowlah has always been a favourite location of mine.

A good red wine at the end of a long week.

Be honest and work hard.

What’s the best thing that’s happened to you this week?
My youngest son moved back home on Tuesday from overseas.

My work ethic.

I work too hard and I don’t take enough breaks.

Confinement – being locked in.

Mercedes 190SL 1962 model.

Good Health.

Italy – Amalfi Coast.

I don’t… I go for a drive in my Mercedes.
