South corner Manly beach any day of the week.

Is there something about you that would surprise people?
For 3 years I’ve been recording a weekly podcast called Before The Dip with a good friend of mine. We talk about our lives. I think it’s hilarious.

What’s something everyone should do at least once?
The Spit to Manly walk.

It’s Sunday afternoon, where do we find you?
Little Manly with my family to escape the nor’easter.

If you were down to your last $50 what would you spend it on?
Coffee and pastries or a new pair of budgy smugglers.

Business

How did Village Chiropractic happen? How long have you been operating?
I started working in the practice in 2005 as a locum chiropractor after returning from a few years in Dublin,Ireland. I remember in my third year in Ireland I was sitting in a sauna in mid winter cold, dark, rainy Dublin and closing my eyes imagined I was sitting on Manly beach. That was the moment I decided Manly is where I wanted to be. I ended up buying the practice in 2006 and have been there ever since.

Best business experience?
So many great experiences happen in the practice every day which may sound corny but it’s such a privilege to care for our patients but as a stand-alone moment I think being the director of the health/medical team at the Sydney Surf Pro in 2020 rates close to the top.

If you weren’t doing this, what would you be doing?
Manly tour guide.

Best part of your job or most enjoyable part of your job?
I get to help people find solutions to their health concerns. Helping people fills my cup. Best of all I get to do it with a team that is more like a family.

Most stressful part of your job?
Leaving it too late to book a Christmas party.

Weirdest thing that has ever happened at work?
One Saturday afternoon someone tried to break into our practice. Little did they know our giant 6’4″ 120kg ex-American footballer massage therapist Nate was working inside. When Nate opened the door to him the would-be thief screamed and ran down the stairs never to be seen again.

What’s the best part of working on the Northern Beaches? Why’d you chose to work here?
Simply put it’s the lifestyle. People who live here appreciate an active, healthy and connected life. Village Chiropractic has been shaped by this community and for me working here inspires me every day to live a great life.

Personal

What would you rate 10/10?
Quality family time.

What is the best advice you’ve received?

Greatest strength?
I’m a good listener.

Greatest weakness?
Jelly snakes.

Does anything scare you?
Not living a full and meaningful life.

What’s your most treasured possession?
My 1968 Rolex Submariner. It was passed on to me by my grandfather who bought it in Florida during the Cuban missile crisis.

What’s your idea of absolute happiness?
Lying in the hammock on my parents veranda after one of the many lunches between Christmas and New Years Day with all my family around.

Which two famous people would you choose to be stuck in a lift with?
Joe Rogan and David Goggins.

I’ve always wanted to visit the Okavango Delta in Botswana.

How do you switch off?
I go for a run

What’s your guilty pleasure?
The centre isle at Aldi ( you never know what you’ll find).

Who’s your personal hero?
My wife Monique

If you were an animal, what would you be?
Some kind of bear. Maybe a polar bear.

How would you like to be remembered?
I would consider my life well lived if people said “Ah that Ravi he was good bloke. You know he really helped me when I needed it.”

If we could ask you one more question, what would it be and what’s your answer?
What is the best way for people in Manly wanting to improve their health to go about it?
Wake up and get down to the beach for sunrise, walk or swim with friends and laugh
together afterwards. If that doesn’t work give me a call 😉
