Tank of fuel in my motorbike and head off.

How did Manly Markets happen?  How long have you been operating?
Manly Markets was going to be discontinued. I took it over in 2012. Recommended through the chamber of commerce being an ex-retailer here in Manly.

Best business experience?
1 st day of trading in my 1 st store. There was a line out the door all day!

If you weren’t doing this, what would you be doing?
Traveling the globe.

Best part of your job or most enjoyable part of your job?
Being in Manly Interacting with shops and shop operators.

Most stressful part of your job?
Trying to please everyone.

Weirdest thing that has ever happened at work?
When I owned the Billabong Shop I had to look after Metallica for 3 days.

What’s the best part of working on the Northern Beaches? Why’d you chose to work here?
7 miles from the city. 1000 miles from care.

What’s it like running the markets in Manly?
I had a surf shop in Manly for 25 years so when I sold to Billabong, I missed being in the Manly CBD with all the retailers. The markets mean I can not only deal with all the amazingly talented stall holders but also still interact with all the retailers and make sure everyone is happy and benefiting from them. The markets are there to create atmosphere and add to the business in Manly, not compete with it.
