What’s your favourite place on the Northern Beaches?
Can’t beat Freshwater Beach! It’s where I was born, where my kids were born. It’s where I spend more of my time.

I cut my own hair. Bowl, scissors and away we go!

Face your fears and confront what scares them most.

Most likely pushing my kids on waves at Freshie.
If you were down to your last $50 what would you spend it on?
I would say beers and surf wax but I would most likely have to spend it on something like formula and nappies.

How did Big Wave Project happen? How long have you been working in the business?
By catching the 2 rides of my life in consecutive months, and gaining international attention for them.
Best surfing experience?
It would have to that first wave in April 2025. Catching the best wave of my life at my local is an unbeatable feeling.
If you weren’t doing this, what would you be doing?
I would be doing what I have been doing this whole time; firies, carpentry and going surfing whenever I have a spare moment.
Best part of about chasing big waves?
The feeling of overcoming your fears and the brotherhood that is around chasing the ultimate wave.
Most stressful part of the chase?
Getting smashed into a reef or being held under water for too long.
What’s the best part of surfing big waves on the Northern Beaches?
The camaraderie and brotherhood of the local guys, all supporting each other and keeping an eye on each others safety in the water.
Personal
What would you rate 10/10?
Spending a day with my family. Nothing brings me more joy than being with my wife and kids.
What is the best advice you’ve received?
To enjoy the process of things and not be so outcome focused.
Greatest strength?
The ability to overcome fears and anxieties when they arise.
Greatest weakness?
Bad at multitasking.
Does anything scare you?
Drowning and sharks.
What’s your most treasured possession?
My Big Wave Challenge ride of the year trophy.
What’s your idea of absolute happiness?
Perfect health for me and my family. Anything else is a bonus.
How do you switch off?
Exercise and surfing are my main escape.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Solo karaoke to some questionable songs when I’m driving alone in my car.
Who’s your personal hero?
Mick Fanning. Australia’s greatest ever surfer. He’s so humble and kind, I truly think he’s a great guy.
If you were an animal, what would you be?
An Orca. Top of the food chain and living in the ocean, but still friendly to humans.
How would you like to be remembered?
As a person who took care of his family and friends and always tried his best to do the right thing by people.
